At aloha golf and coffee lounge, we are dedicated to bringing the spirit of aloha to our home city through an elevated golf simulation experience and our unique, family focused menu. we use real Kona espresso in our specialty drinks- like our mayumi mocha and hafekasi- each inspired by authentic Polynesian flavors. We welcome everyone into our fāmili (family) and strive to create a warm, inclusive space where everyone can enjoy a top-tier golf simulation experience and the spirit of aloha with every sip. Our passion for the aloha spirit, golf, and coffee is at the heart of everything we do.
our story
Aloha Golf and Coffee Lounge was founded by a local Utah Polynesian family with a passion for golf, coffee, and the spirit of aloha.
Kama was born and raised in Tonga, a small island nation in the South Pacific. Growing up he spent as much time as he could at the 9-hole course in Ha'ateiho. The passion he grew on that small course followed him to Utah, where he met Amy. He earned his PGA Pro Card and loves spending his free time with our members at the shop.
Amy, originally from Arizona, worked with at-risk youth for 30 years. In June 2023, Amy was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. After achieving remission for the first time, Amy decided to retire. Unfortunately, Amy's ovarian cancer has returned twice since her original diagnosis. Her most recent reoccurrence was diagnosed in April 2026.
Amy and Kama have two kids, Ma'ilei and KJ. After learning about Amy's ovarian cancer in 2023, the entire family's perspective changed, leading them to prioritize their passions. A lifelong dream of Kama's was to open a golf simulator- just as a lifelong dream of Amy and Ma'ilei's was to open a coffee shop. This lead to the creation of Aloha Golf and Coffee Lounge, and the Muti family continues to live life with the philosophy of "tomorrow isn't guaranteed."
ma'ilei & Colin Muti-Lumley
Ma'ilei and Colin got married in May of 2024. They have three cats, Frank (ocean), Stevie and Wonder. Ma'ilei is the manager of the coffee shop, resident artist, and anything else needed! Colin's favorite drink is the Golden Island (Ma'ilei created it for him) and Ma'ilei's depends on the day!
KJ Muti
KJ works as the shop supervisor at Fear Factory, an award winning haunted house in Salt Lake City. His favorite drink is the Cinnamon Surfer, a drink Ma'ilei created in his honor.
