our story

Aloha Golf and Coffee Lounge was founded by a local Utah Polynesian family with a passion for golf, coffee, and the spirit of aloha.

Kama was born and raised in Tonga and developed a love for golf, spending time on the 9-hole course in Ha'ateiho. His lifelong passion led him to earn his PGA Pro Card, and he is excited to start teaching golf.

Amy, originally from Arizona, worked for 30 years with at-risk youth before retiring in April 2024.  In July 2023, Amy was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. in June 2025, she was diagnosed with a recurrence. The diagnosis shifted the family's perspective, leading them to prioritize their passions and do what brings them joy, living life with aloha and the belief that "tomorrow isn't guaranteed."

Kama and Amy have been married for 27 years and have three children: KJ (25), Ma'ilei (23), and Colin (23).

Ma'ilei and Colin got married in May of 2024. They have three cats, Frank (ocean), Stevie and Wonder. Ma'ilei is the manager of the coffee shop, resident artist, and anything else needed! Colin's favorite drink is the Golden Island (Ma'ilei created it for him) and Ma'ilei's depends on the day!

KJ muti

KJ has a passion for anything and everything coffee and spooky. When he isn't at the coffee shop with Ma'ilei or Amy, he's at his other job professionally scaring people. As the shop supervisor of Fear Factory, KJ is living his dream of working at a haunted house and a coffee shop. His favorite drink is the Cinnamon Surfer, his creation.
